Antennas and Communications
In recent years, SENER has supplied equipment and participated in various projects involving high and medium gain antenna pointing mechanisms for major scientific missions of the ESA, such as BepiColombo, Solar Orbiter and JUICE. In the development of these systems, SENER designs, verifies and integrates key communications elements in the mechanisms, such as antennas and rotary joints.
As well as skills in telecommunications engineering (radio frequency), the development of these components also requires specialists in the disciplines of mechanical and thermal engineering.
SENER is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, integration, testing and analysis. The tasks fall into two divisions:
- Radiant elements: Medium and high gain antennas
- Passive radio frequency (RF) elements and systems for signal routing
