Galician illustrator Pablo Rosendo, winner of the first SENER in Space comic competition: “A Stellar Trajectory", has now submitted the eight pages of his project, for which he won a prize of 1,000 euros. The complete comic can be viewed and downloaded at www.pioneeringspace.sener

2017 marks the 50th year of SENER’s pursuits in space, and among various other activities being organized to commemorate the occasion, it launched this competition in January. The purpose of the comic is to make the general public more aware of the significance of the work the company has been carrying out over the last five decades, and to offer people a closer look at the aerospace sector’s latest technologies.

The protagonist of the story: SENER in Space

The protagonist of the comic, entitled “SENER, a Stellar Trajectory,” is an 8-year-old boy who goes over the successful history of SENER in Space and explains the company’s participation in some of the main projects during these 50 years in the space sector. During this time, SENER has supplied over 275 hardware, systems for satellites and space vehicles for space agencies such as ESA (Europe), NASA (USA), JAXA (Japan) and Roskosmos (Russia); all involve technological hardware that have not recorded any faults.

Selection of the winner

The panel of judges unanimously chose the draft submitted by Pablo Rosendo as that which best reflected SENER’s path of progress over these 50 years of activity in the space sector. The comic, “SENER, a Stellar Trajectory,” is notable for the quality of the drawings, as well as the originality, vitality and optimism with which the key messages of the 50th anniversary of SENER in Space are expressed.

Pablo Rosendo is a 32-year-old illustrator who was born in Vigo and studied at the Higher School of Professional Drawing (ESDIP) in Madrid.
